The Broward College Board of Trustees announced recently the list of five finalists for the president position.

The list of finalists include Broward College’s own General Counsel and Vice President for Public Policy and Government Affairs Gregory Haile.

Completing the list are Madeline M. Pumariega, chancellor of the Florida College System, Cliff Davis, president of Ozarks Technical Community College’s Table Rock Campus, Dr. Christopher Reber, president of Community College of Beaver County, and Elliot Stern, vice president of instruction at Lake Washington Institute of Technology.

Finalists were selected from a pool of 22 candidates provided by AGB Search, the firm selected by the Board to lead the national search, to the Screening Committee, which includes members of the Broward County community, as well as Board, faculty, staff, and student Representatives, back in late March.

According to the timeline posted on bcpresidentsearch.com, it is expected that the finalists will be given a campus and community tour on April 30 and May 1.

Following, the candidates will spend May 2 at the BOT meeting for face-to-face interviews.

Lastly, it is expected that a finalist will be recommended by the second week of May after completing reference and background checks.

Armstrong will be at the ready to help the Board and new president in any way necessary during the transition period.
