As summer comes to its close, students everywhere pause their shows and prepare for a stressful back to school start. But, get ready to hit play on several new releases coming out this fall. The abundance of new entertainment can help make for a less stressful school season start.
Many long-running shows will be returning for new seasons this fall. Was 20 seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” enough? Show writer Shonda Rhimes says no. The show will return with season 21 on Thursday, Sept. 26. In an emergency, call 9-1-1, or just watch the ABC show. Season 8 of “9-1-1” will premiere on Sept. 27. The following month, everyone’s favorite comedy is coming back for its third season: See “Abbot Elementary” on Oct. 9.
For all the reality show fans out there, content is on its way. On Sept. 17, season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars” will premiere. Get ready to cheer for a celebrity and dancer pair as they dance their way towards the mirrorball trophy. The bachelor version became a fan-favorite, and the bachelorette version is sure to as well: NBC’s “The Golden Bachelorette” will debut on Sept. 18 starring Joan Vassos as the leading lady. The following month will see season 16 of “Shark Tank,” which will be Mark Cuban’s last season as a shark on the show.
Don’t be scared of running out of shows this fall. In fact, fall will be seeing a huge celebration of old shows as well as new. This year’s Emmy Awards will take place on Sept. 15. The night will award the past year’s best shows, actors, actresses and more. Make sure to take notes and add some of the latest award-winning shows to the watch list.
If watching a whole new season of a show is too time-consuming, don’t worry, because the movie theater is sure to be a popular place this autumn. Horror fans especially are in luck with the new wave of films releasing.
Fans loved it on Broadway, and now it’s hitting the screen for a modern rendition since Warner Bros. has confirmed the Sept. 6 release of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” starring Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton. The following month will see two more horror-like movies. The first became a favorite, so did the second and now, “Venom 3” will be going into theaters on Oct. 18. That same day will also see the sequel of another favorite: “Smile 2.”
As fall nears its end and the year heads to its last month, don’t miss out on one of the biggest movie release dates of the year: Nov. 22. As this day approaches, it’s time to choose between the musical starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo or the beloved return of the action movie starring Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal. Nov. 22 marks the release of both “Wicked” and “Gladiator 2.”
With plenty to watch, new and returning, there is no reason to fear the back to school season. Just remember that when school work becomes too stressful, take a break and turn on the tv.
