Have you ever thought about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into organizing Student Life events? Its a remarkable effort led by passionate individuals who pour their heart and soul into it. Over the past six years, Gissel Spilfogel has been a critical player at Central Campus, witnessing the arrival and departure of numerous student affiliates, all of whom have left their distinct impact.
Take Jasmine Gamble, for instance. Reflecting on her time at Student Life, she shares, Throughout my time at Student Life, Gissel has been incredibly supportive, always patient, kind, and ready to help. Her departure marks the end of an era where her impact on students like me was profound. Shes been a true inspiration, showing dedication and care for our well-being. Gissels influence goes beyond the college, leaving a lasting impression on all of us luckyenough to work with her. Supportive and caring mentors can transform peoples lives, and itsinspiring to see Gissels dedication and kindness being recognized.
Then theres Dwight Scarlett, a graduate who flourished with Gissels guidance. "Working alongside Gissel was wonderful! Im super grateful for the invaluable support and mentorship she provided. Her consistent guidance, constructive feedback, and willingness to listen have enhanced my professional growth and fostered a collaborative and positive work environment. She was dedicated to ensuring that all of us in the office and I were successful, evident in every aspect of my work, from project planning to skill development. Im truly fortunate to have had such an inspiring leader like Gissel. She was very caring and tried her best to help out in any way she could!" Hearing about leaders who go above and beyond to ensure their teams success is always inspiring.
Angie Castro is a graduate student who works in Student Life at Central Campus. She was deeply impacted by Gissels presence and wanted to share her heartfelt gratitude. According to Angie, Gissel radiates so much positivity and uplifts everyone. She was a motherly figure in the office who always took the time out of her busy workdays to check in on us. She carried out her professional duties with excellence and is truly an inspiration. Shell always be one of my favorite bosses. Phillip, a current student, adds, Gissel, the most caring boss anyone could ever ask for. Whenever you needed anything, she was always there and ready to help! On top of that, shes caring and made sure all her employees were happy. Wherever Gissel goes, Im sure shell be an amazing addition! She embodies those qualities, and its no surprise that she has made a lasting impression on those who have worked with her.
Josef Tinsley, who worked alongside Gissel, shares his perspective as the Interim Central Campus Director: Though Gissel will be missed in the department, I congratulate her on the new opportunity ahead.
